Hello 2022
It's hard to believe the beginning of a new year is here and 2021 is a thing of the past. 2021 was a year of change- perhaps not as severe as 2020, but full of change nonetheless. With my son's diagnosis of Dyslexia, I was motivated to kick my photography business into high gear. I knew I was capable of taking on more but I constantly let fear hold me back. More than anything else, I think I was fearful of success. What would happen if I couldn't handle more work? But how would I ever know if I never tried, so with the cost of private school hanging over my head, damn it, it was time to try.

I set myself a small goal and hit the ground running. Thanks to all of my amazing clients, I crushed that small goal and have enough saved to take a big chunk out of Gus's private school for next year. I set my fear aside and did what I needed to do to help my little family.

I found people who wanted to shoot with me just because they love my "art"- people who let me shove their kids in some bushes and make beautiful photos. I'm thankful for their trust. Some people said they'd found their "new" photographer and lots of people sent sweet messages through their joyful tears upon seeing their photos for the first time. To the families who keep coming back to me year after year, I can not say thank you enough. The faith you have in me to capture your sweet family moments means more to me than you'll ever know. The pleasure of watching your kids grow year after year is one I hold so close to my heart.

I'm proud of my accomplishments in 2021, but I look forward to even bigger things in 2022. New adventures await and I'm glad so many of you are along for the ride!

Also, a big shout out to other new business owners, like Scott Furr with The Vine Photography Venue. I'm happy to have been able to shoot four weekends of minis at his beautiful venue and help support other local, small businesses. May we continue to grow together and support each other.
